Erin Zacharias

When Erin started receiving massage therapy for injuries acquired in youth minor sports, a curiosity about the mechanics of the body was ignited. That spark has grown into a passion for the mind, body and spirit connectedness. Through education, insight and trusting her intuition, Erin left her previous career behind and pursued her dream as a Registered Massage Therapist. Erin believes the gateway to personal health and wellbeing is through body work. Identifying the stress we endure through our busy work and home environments is the key to finding relief from discomfort. Erin will combine Swedish Relaxation & Therapeutic Massage reflecting the individual needs of each person. Striving to achieve wellbeing through all modes of natural healing, we are able to open the path to balance.

Connie Legate

Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Pasadena, NL
Originally from Pasadena, Newfoundland, Connie moved to Fort McMurray in 1999. Connie graduated from the Alberta Training Institute Massage Therapy program in Fort McMurray with her Diploma in Massage Therapy. She has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2005, working alongside Dr. Rob Laurie at ALBA Chiropractics until the fall of 2011 when Connie joined Higher Health Clinic.

Connie’s continuing education includes training at the Dr. Vodder’s School in Victoria, BC. www.vodderschool.com. Where she received special certification in Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) and Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD). As well as intensive training through Gary Schweitzer’s Advanced Deep Tissue Therapy program. www.sdtt.com

Connie’s treatments are designed to address the root problem, relieve symptoms and restore pain free function in order to maintain optimal health. A typical session with Connie will include an assessment, hands on massage and providing at home care, which may include stretches and exercises.

Connie’s approach to massage is all encompassing including a broad range of techniques including myofascial manipulation, joint mobilization, PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching, trigger point therapy and Swedish Massage.

Holly Verge

Registered Massage Therapist

Holly was born and raised in Nova Scotia and moved to Fort McMurray in 2007.
Holly learned the benefits of alternative healing after suffering minor sports injuries as a teenager which drew here to the love of massage therapy. Holly has studied at the Canadian college of massage and hydro therapy, Texas Massage Institute and Alberta Massage Training giving her a wide variety of knowledge in relaxation as well as deep tissue and trigger point therapy. Holly’s approach is relaxing the body and applying pressure where needed or to the clients comfort level. She is both passionate about helping others improve their health and well being. Holly is also in the process of becoming a reflexologist.

Jen Ahern

Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Fort McMurray, AB
Jen was born and raised in Fort McMurray and is happy to be living in her adventurous and beautiful hometown. She is a registered massage therapist with the RMTA. She earned her 2200 hour diploma in massage therapy from MH Vicars School of Massage in Edmonton. This included training in relaxation massage, therapeutic/remedial massage, deep muscle massage, trigger point release, myofascial release, manual lymphatic drainage, hydrotherapy, pre/post natal massage, seated/chair massage and sports massage. Jen has since earned certificates in Jade Stone Massage and Cupping Massage. After having two children in recent years she has been building her knowledge and skills for pre/post pregnancy massage and is now a Certified Infant Massage Teacher.
Jen’s massage sessions are never the same because they are based on a combination treatment for the clients immediate concerns and long term goals for wellness. She encourages open communication and thoughtful breath during treatments. She also strives to provide useful recommendations for home care including self-massage, hydrotherapy, stretches and exercises.

Shakira Osmond

Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Gander, NL
Originally from Gander, Newfoundland, Shakira learned at the young age of 2 years old, the difficulty of living with chronic pain when she observed her mom suffering to maintain a normal lifestyle after being involved in a workplace injury. It was there in which Shakira now realizes her passion for helping others had stemmed.
After graduating from high school, Shakira pursued a pharmacy degree but later realized something was missing, it was there in which she decided to give her career in pharmacy a break and wanted to help others in a more natural environment so she started working in a massage therapy clinic and soon realized the profound effects a massage can have on the body, mind and soul.
In 2007, Shakira moved to Fort McMurray where she continued with pharmacy while attending Alberta Massage Training, and later graduated from their 2200 hours program being certified in Deep Tissue, Swedish Relaxation and Working With Scar Tissue And Adhesions.

Brittany Barnes

Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Deer Lake, NL
Brittany was born and raised in the beautiful province of Newfoundland. She has a great fascination with human anatomy, natural healing and prevention. Straight out of high school she enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at Academy Canada Career College. In 2012, she graduated from the program and received her diploma in Health and Human Sciences.
Her schooling has qualified her to safely and effectively treat a variety of disorders, syndromes and conditions. She likes to develop a specific treatment plan for each individual client, which she believes will be best in achieving their goals. After a typical treatment she will instruct home-care that may include hydrotherapy, stretches and/or exercises.

Ayla Moores

Awesomeness Advisor, Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Codroy Valley, NL
Ayla was born in St. Albert, Alberta and raised all over the country (Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Ontario). She moved to Fort McMurray in January 2015 from Barrie Ontario.
She attended Georgian College, in Barrie, ON, for 3 years and then went on to complete the provincial testing required to become a registered massage therapist in Ontario. She worked for 2 years in a chiropractic clinic where she was very successful in providing top quality therapy to her clients.
Ayla’s approach is very specific to each client’s circumstance. She has the ability to adjust the pressure she uses to any request. Her specialties include treating chronic pain, stress tension, injury and common aches and pain. She normally uses a gentle approach to relax tissue then performs the required pressure/ techniques to address the cause of pain or discomfort. She is very passionate about helping improve the health and wellbeing of each person she treats and has had a high success rate in doing so in her career so far

Heather Thomas

Craniosacral Registered Massage Therapist

Heather Thomas is a Registered Massage Therapist specializing in CranioSacral Therapy and Healing from the Core Energy work. Heather is an ERYT500 yoga teacher and has been teaching classes in Fort McMurray for the past 8 years. She brings love, compassion, understanding and enthusiasm to her work which is as much a part of her as it is a service to the community. Heather loves to call Fort McMurray home and is grateful for what each day has to offer.

Sam Ryan

Samantha Ryan is a Registered Massage Therapist, Certified Holistic Nutrition Practitioner and a lifelong student of holistic health. Growing up Samantha witnessed the negative effects of severe chronic pain suffered by a close family member and it was through this experience that she discovered her passion for holistic healing.

Samantha graduated from the Alberta Training Institute in Fort McMurray with a Diploma in Massage Therapy and has been practicing since 2007. She holds additional certification in deep tissue techniques, myofascial cupping, stone therapy, reiki (master level) and is currently working towards her certification in iridology. Samantha also has a strong interest in crystal therapy and incorporates them into her treatments.

Samantha believes that her clients signs and symptoms have a deeper connection with concerns passed the physical realm and that nutrition and lifestyle have a larger impact on overall health than we give it credit for; to achieve optimal health it is important to address the whole person.

Through intuition, intention and a therapeutic touch, her treatments combine different techniques customized to each individual allowing the mind, body and soul to de-stress and alleviate pain.

Joella Hack

Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Chilliwack, BC
Joella has always been fascinated by the complexity of the body and how it maintains health. Joella enjoyed studying biology in school and learning about the science behind health. When she started massage therapy training, she also gained an appreciation for the connection between physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Joella has been practicing massage for two years and every day she is excited to explore the link between emotional stressors and the release of physical tension.

“What I like most is connecting with clients and working with them to achieve their goals. I focus on calibrating gentle deep-tissue massage to treat muscular issues while incorporating breath-work and centering techniques to achieve dramatic releases. Kayleigh Farrell

Registered Massage Therapist

Kayleigh has been a practicing massage therapist for more than 10 years most of which was spent as a rehab based therapist. Kayleigh specializes in deep tissue, sports massage as well as post surgical care.

She has been employed with the Alberta College of Massage Therapy since 2014 and is a passionate educator. Continued professional growth, diverse background and an individualized approach to treatment makes kayleigh a well rounded therapist.

Kia Compagnon

Registered Massage Therapist

Hometown: Deer Lake, NL

Kia Compagnon has always been interested in the human body and it’s mechanics. Being active throughout her life, she decided to study Kinesiology as her post secondary education. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, NS, in 2010. Shortly after, she moved to Fort McMurray.

While working as a Kinesiologist, she discovered a new passion for holistic healing and the inseparable connection between the mind and body. Kia decided to then pursue a career in Massage Therapy.

Graduating from the Alberta College of Massage Therapy in 2016, she is now certified in Therapeutic, Swedish Relaxation and Pre/Post Natal massage. Her treatments are customized to each individual to enhance overall health and well-being. She likes to incorporate relaxation massage in with myofascial release, deep tissue and trigger point therapy. She will also communicate the importance of self- management by participating in homecare such as hydro-therapy, stretching and/or strengthening exercises and taking time for yourself.

Her passion to expand her knowledge in energy healing, has lead her to complete her Reiki course and is now a Reiki Master. She is looking forward to enhancing her career with additional modalities and techniques.

Kia’s other passions in life include the outdoors, travelling, animals and spending time with family and friends
